The Tiger (P) "Ferdinand", later "Elephant", (Sd.Kfz. 184) was a heavy fighter tank of the Wehrmacht in the Second World War.
As a defensive weapon, the combat value of the Ferdinands were very high; thus a single gun could destroy 22 enemy tanks near Kursk in one morning, which actually thought they were safe due to the long distance.
Despite the high technical failure rates, the heavy tank destroyer division 653, for example, was able to achieve a total of 320 rounds with 13 own losses from the beginning of the offensive until July 27.
